To the Hditor of the Lyttellon Times.

Sir, —I agree with you, that we cannot say as yet whether the Association will do more than they promised in the minute of the May 24,1850, to do ; but I infer that they will, not only from private information, but from their having procured the insertion (into the Constitutional Act) of a clause enabling them to do so. They might have carried out the intentions expressed in the minute, without any additional Parliamentary powers, and what I meant to make clear was, that they are now (if the bill have passed) empowered to do a great deal more, or rather, to do something quite different.
