A SPLENDID BAY HORSE, near 17 -£*- hands, 4 years old, will stand this season at Mr. Creyke's Farm, one mile south of Christchurch. His sire, "Young Prince," a pure Suffolk, imported by J. W. Gleadow, Esq., to Van Diemen's Land ; his Dam a Government mare, by the celebrated imported horse " Sampson." Terms, 3/. 35.; Groom, 2s. 6d. Early applications are requested, as the number of mares will be limited. One mare in five gratis. Season to commence on the Ist of October. To Cover this Season, The Fine Thorough-bred Entire Horse "GLEN DON." /^TLENDON, the property of Messrs. v-* Clifford and Weld, was bred by H. Scott, Esq., New South Wales, and foaled Sept. 28th, 1845 ; was got by Cap-a-pie out of Griselda by Dover; gran-dam Gertrude by Trumpet, her dam Gidley ; Cap-a-pie (imported) by The Colonel out of Sister to Cactus (see Stud-Book, vol. iv. p. 450) ; Dover (imported) by Patron out of the Maid of Kent (see Stud-Book, vol. iv. p. 252) ; Trumpet (imported), own brother to Bugle, by Teresias out of a Rubens mare (see Stud-book, vol. iv. p. 403. Glendon possesses immense strength of bone and muscle; he is well known in the neighbour-, ing colonies as a sure foal-getter, and is perfectly sound, having done no work. Glendon will arrive at Lyttelton in October, to commence the season on the Ist November. Further particulars, and the most satisfactory references as to his qualities, may be obtained by applying (by letter or personally) to Mr. Parkinson, GoKan's Bay, who will give due notice of the days fixed for Standing in Lyttelton or Christchurch respectively, and who is now prepared to book any orders. * Terms— £b for each mare, and ss. the groom. A £25 Cup will be presented by the owners, to be run for in 1856 by Glendon's produce, bred in the Canterbury Settlement. To Stand this Season, CANTERBURY, T ATE the property of J. Lockhaut, -*-' Esq., of Homes Hill, Garenkirk, and imported by J. C. Watts Russell, in December, 1850. He is of pure Clydesdale breed, rising six years old, a beautiful dark brown, with good bone, and superior action. He was got by the young Scotsman, who gained several prizes in the County of Ayr, his grandsire was the Scotsman, property of William Khkwood, Grimesal, Dunlope, who gained two first prizes, in the Highland Agricultural Society. Terms, £3 for each mare, and ss. the groom. To Stand this Season, SHAMROCK. HHHE thorough-bred Horse, Shamrock, -*- will travel the Christchurch district, and will stand at Ham Farm, where good paddocks will be provided (free of expenses) for mares beyond the district. Shamrock is a bright bay, and stands sixteen and a half hands high, strong boned, and very good tempered, is six years old, and was got by Mr. Rouse's (of Guntawarry) splendid English blood horse, Saint John, out of a thorough-bred Camerton mare. Shamrock was the winner of the prize at the Agricultural Society's Show, as the best colonial bluod Stallion. Terms, £b for each mare, and ss. the groom. P.S. —A £25 Cup will be presented by J. C.
