Aareeably with the wishes of many of our Subscribers toe have ceased to publish a Supplement, but have incorporated it with the body of our journal, as iq render it as complete and compact as possible. n'e have received a long letter from Mr. Brittan which we will publish, if possible, next week. There hem", however, another Organ of public opinion in the "settlement, we take this opportunity of saying that we no longer consider ourselves bound to place our columns at the disposal of those who may wish to criticise our remarks. We faithfully kept the uleclae we gave so long as we stood alone; but now we stand in the position of any journal in England, or elseivhere, and shall adopt the usual rule. " Enquirer" will find the " Provincial Cotincils Ordinance," published at full length, in our journal of the 25th-of January, last year. '■An old Colonist" and an " Old Whaler" will pardon our not publishing their brochures, as Mr. Fletcher's letter briefly and effectually disposes of Mr. George Williams Metehau. In future, a^ communications to the editor of the Lyttelton Times must be left at the office before Wednesday Evening, in order that they may be inserted in the paper of the following Saturday. No communication will receive any attention unless accompanied, by the name and address of the author, not necessarily for publication, but as evidence of his good faith.
