"i^OTICE is Hereby Given,—That from -*-^l and after the Fifth Day of July next, the Ordinance to abate the Dog, Nuisance within the Towns of Lyttelton and Christchurch will be strictly enforced. Any person having an unregistered dog in his following will be liable to a penalty of Ten Shillings, and Constables will be authorized to destroy all unregistered dogs found within the limits of those Towns. From and after the First Day of November next a tax of Twenty Pounds will be levied in respect of every Building constructed of Raupo, Straw, or Thatch of any description, situate within the boundaries of those Towns; and any person erecting a Building of such materials within those limits will be subject to a penalty of One Hundred Pounds.
