Solicitor Richard Wormald, Esq. Surveyor Caft. John Parsons. The above Company has been formed for the purpose of effecting Insurances upon vessels engaged in the carrying trade of the Canterbury Settlement, and their cargoes; but chiefly with the view of affording security to settlers on the plains, against the total loss of their goods shipped from the port. Owing to the numerous accidents which have taken place on the Sunnier Bar and its neighbourhood, the want of an Insurance Company has long been felt, and parties residing on the plains will henceforth be able to insure their Goods from the port at a moderate charge. The Business of the Company will commence on Monday next, Oct. 20th, and will be conducted at the office of the Managers, who will be prepared to grant Policies, and to afford such information as may be desired. Longden & Le Cren, Managers. 3, Norwich Quay, Lyttelton, Oct. 16, 1851.
