Insurance against Loss by Fire of Property of every description, both at home and abroad. Life Insurance in all its branches, including the Endowment of Children and Adults ; and the sale and 'purchase of Annuities, Reversions, and contingent Interests. Insurance of Leases for Years, by which the value of Property so held is made equal to freehold. FIRE DEPARTMENT. Since its establishment in 1836, the Company has paid, for Losses by Fire, the sum of 241, 6001. This fact is the best evidence of the service it has rendered the public, and the strongest ground on which to rest its claims to public favour. The Premiums are moderate; the settlement of claims liberal and prompt. Insurances are effected in the British Colonies and in Foreign Countries, as well as throughout the United Kingdom. Farming Stock. —The Stock and Utensils on one Firm may be insured in one sum, if subject to average, at 3s. 6d. per cent., or, free from average, at 4«. per cent.; in either case it is not chargeable with Duty. No Charge for Policy, however small the Amount of Insurance. Agents at Wellington, Messrs. William Bowler, Son & Co. At Lyttelton, Messrs. Cookson, Bowler, & Co., who are now prepared to effect Policies commencing on the 4th inst.
