A SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING 7 -Q- of the Society of Land Purchasers will be holden at Christchurch, on Monday the 28th instant, at 1 p. m., for the purpose of electing a new President and Council. Due notice has been given of the following motions. 1. "To consider what course maybe bestadopted to mitigate the evils of the existing Pasturage Regulations, and to facilitate the introduction of stock into the settlement/ to be moved by Mr. Fitzgerald. 2. " To add a 13th clause to the Rules and t Eegulations of the Society, to the following effect. Clause 13. The Society reserves to itself the power of altering or adding to the above rules as circumstances may require, by a vote of any General or Special General Meeting, provided that due notice of f such proposed alteration be given in accordance with the conditions required by Clause 4, and that it be confirmed by a I majority of not less than' two-thirds of the r whole number of Registered Members of the Society," to be moved by Mr. Brittan. 3. "To resolve that no Land-purchaser in receipt of a yearly salary from the Association, be eligible to sit in the Council of Land-purchasers," to be moved by Mr. r ■ Bridge. Edwakd Weight.
