IMPORTANT SALE OF TIMBER, ETC. MR. ALPORT has the honour to inform the Public that he has received instructions from the Proprietor to Sell by Auction, at the Golden Fleece, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 2,lst of July, all the TIMBER as it stands on TWENTY ACRES of the best part of Papanui Woodj within two miles of Christchurch. It will be submitted to public competition in f~Lots of Five Acres each, or in smaller quantities A ifrequired, to suit the convenience of purchasers. » Mr. Alpobt resjjectfully invites the attention of Sawyers, Timber-Dealers, and the Public generally, to this very valuable property. The "^present great scarcity of Timber in the Settlement, more particularly oirthe Plains —the fact that all the available part of R,iccarton Bush has now been cut down—and the proximity and easy access of Papanui Wood to Christchurch, (where for the next several years there must of necessity be a very large and increasing demand, at high prices, for every description of Sawn Timber, Firewood, &c.) concur to render this property one of extreme value, and worthy the attention of all connected with the timber trade. A large tract of country immediately adjoining the wood has already been chosen as Freehold Land, further enhancing the value of the wood, to which the neighbouring farms and stations can alone look for their entire supply of wood for building, firewood, fencing, and other purposes. The Great North Road from Christchurch will pass close by the wood, and a respectable Pub-lic-House is about at once to be established on land immediately adjoining the property to be told. To view a Map of the Lots, and for Conditions of Sale and further particulars, apply at the office of the auctioneer, 2, Norwich Quay, or at Mr. Habman's, Christchurch.
