Weekly Market Report. Stronaoh, Morris and Co., Ltd;, report for week ended Thursday, 24th July, 1919, as follows Fat Cattle—A small yarding, 97 being penned, the majority of which was only of fair quality. Competition amongst the butchers was very keen owing to the shortage, and prices showed a sharp rise on last week’s rates. Prime bullocks £23 15s to £26 7s 6d, medium £l9 to £22 10s, light £ls to £l6 10s. prime cows and heifers £l7 to £l9 1 Os, medium £l3 10s to £l6. Fat Sheep—ll74 yarded, consisting cheifly of medium to poor quality sheep, with a few pens of prime. Competition was keen, and prices were slightly in advance of last week’s rates. Prime wethers 51/6 to 55/-, medium 41/6 to 47/-, light 33/- to 37/-, extra prime ewes 54/- to 57/-, prime 38/- to 45/-, medium 27/- to 31/Lambs—There was a small yarding, only 150 being penned. Competition was good, and prices were practically on a par with last week’s rates. Pißs—There was,a small yarding, both of fats and store pigs. Competition was good and last week’s were fully maintained. Stronaoh, Morris, <fe Co. Ltd. report for week ended Tuesday, 15th July, as follows : Eahbibskins—We held our usual fortnighly sale yesterday when we offered a large catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Competition whs good and prices for medium skins were fully up to last week’s rates, but prime skins were easier. Quotations ; Small to lid, light racks 22d, racks to 26fd, autumns and incomings from 57d to 62£ d, early winters to 70d, winter bucks and does to 67d, first winter bucks, 67d to 72d, first winter does 85d to 90d, fawns to 47d, best winter blaok to 116 d, autumn black to 56d per lb. Cat skins 3d to 9d each Sheepskins—The Government are holding a valuation next week. Hides—Our next sale will be held on Thursday, 24th inst. Oats—There is very little business passing at present, growers still being firm holders Prime milling 4/2 to 4/4, good to best feed 4/- to 4/1, inferior to medium 3/3 to 3/9 per bushel (sacks extra) Wheat—Millers still have good stocks on hand, and are only prepared to take lines in good condition. Potatoes—Very few have been coming to hand of late and consequently the market ia firm, there being a very keen demand for choice lines which meet with a ready sale at quotations There is also a good demand for seed lines. Best tables to £9, medium to good £7 10s to £8 10s per ton (sacks in). Chaff-The market is practically bare at present, there being very little coming forward and consequently there is a keen demand. Best oaten sheaf £B, medium to good £7 5s to £7 15s per ton (sacks extra) Weekly Market Report. Mksrp.s Waters, Ritchie, and Co. auetionpers, wool, grain, produce, and commission agents, report (wholesale) for the w«ek as under. All quotations are subject to market fluctuations : Wheat.—Good demand at Government prices. Oats—Good demand. Milling 3/6, bright short feed t > 3/5, medium and intorio 3/3 to 3/4 on trucks. RabbHskins.—Keen demand. We quote— Racks 25d to 27d, light racks 20d to 2ld, autumns 48d to 54d, early autumns 40d to 4GJ, early winters 62d to P6d, winter bucks 6td to 71d, winter doe? 80d to 92d, selected to 93d, winter blacks IOOd to I3od per lb.
