STAND FAST. Retreat is not defeat, Whate'er the foe may say; 'Tis ours to trust our splendid men, Who stand to front the odds again ; 'Tis ours always to pray. That, when they hide the shock Of battles fierce and long, Our fathers' God may with them be, And bless 'he peerless chivalry Of right against foul wrong. Stand fast let us each one Behind the far Hung line: All of us in our chosen place. Our "bit" still doing by God's grace; Till on our banners shine. The sun of victory, ■; And peace the world bless. WOMEN OF ENCLAND. How can we serve thee best, Land of our love? In what encounter pressed Our ardour prove? Mothers o' sons of thee, Each claims the call, Sister or wife be we, Thy daughters all.
