MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

Nominations for the offices of mayor and nine councillors for the Borough of Arrowtown closed with the returning officer (Mr T. J. Cotter) at noon yesterday. Mr W. Penglase was the only candidate nominated for tbe office of Mayor, and only four nominations were received for the nine seats on the Borough Council. The following were the nominations:— —The Mayoralty— William Penglase, nominated by Jamss Chalmers and James Webb. —The Council. — ' Leonard Edgar Adams, nominated by Geo. H. Romans and H. MoKibbin. Henry McKibbin, nominated by Geo. H. Romans and L. E. Adams. John Reid, nominated by John Forbes and T. J. Cotter. George Henry Romans, nominated by L. £. Adams and H. McKibbin. The Returning Officer declared Mr William Penglase duly elected as Mayor, and tbe candidates nominated as members of the Council for the ensuing two years.
