Ltd., report for week ended Thursday, 30th August, 1917, as follows: Fat Cattle :-227 yarded A large propo--lion of the yarding consisted nf bullocks and hoifera of pri.no quality. Values on the who'e were a little easier than last week’s rates. Quotations: Best bullocks £l9 Ids to £2l; extra to £2O 15s; medium to good £ls 10b to £l7 10s; best cows and heifers £ls to £lO 10s; extra to £lB 17s Gd ; modinmto good £l3 10s to £l-1 10s; others from LlO up. Fat Sheep.—26oo penned, a large proporof the yarding being ewes and wethers of prime quality, with a few pens of extra heavy weight wethers. Values were easier to the extent of about 2s per head on last week’s rates. Quotations : -Best wethers 40s to 40s ; extra prime to S2s 0d ; medium to good 34s to 37s ; best ewes 4ls to 43s 01; medium to good 32s to 375; others 27s up Pigs—Another smafi yarding cf fats came to hand,, and were sold at prices fully equal to last week’s high rates. A fair yarding of stores was offered. Good Blips sMd up to as high as 50s, and good suckers to 39s Stronacb, Morris, & Co. Ltd. report for weekended Tuesday, 28th August, as follows : - Babbitskins Our nest Bale will bo held on Monday, 10th Sept. Oats The market has improved considerably, and there is a. strong enquiry for seed and milling lines Quotations; — Prime mil ing 4s to 4s 2d ; good to best feed 3s 9d to 3s lid per bushel (sicks extra). Wheat—There is no milling quality offering. Only small parcels of fowl wheat are available, and these can be quoted at 6s to 0s 3d per bushel for best qualit extra). Potatoes. —The market is very dull, and sales can be only be effected in small lots. Only choice freshly picked lines are in demand. Quotations : -Choice tables to £4 ; medium to good £3 to £3 10s per ton (sacks in). Chaff.—There is a strong enquiry for good heavy oaten ’sheaf, and any consignments coming to hand can be readily told on arrival at quotations Best oaten sheaf £0 to £0 10s ; medium to good £5 to £0 per ton (sacks extra).
