INQUEST.

Au inquest touching the circumstances surrounding the death of Michael Tonery, who had been found dead in his hut at Bush Creek on 6th ■ inst., was held in the Courthouse on \ Thursday last before Mr H. A. Young (District Coroner). Constable Melville watched the proceedings on behalf of the Police. Robert Mitcherlitch said he visited deceased's hut at about 6.30 p.m., on Tuesday, 6th inst, and found deceased lying back in a chair, dead. Dt Thomson said he had made a post mortem examination of the body and found a number of old adhesions on the left lung. The heart was in an advanced state of fatty degeneration. There were no external marks and in witness's opinion the cause of death was fatty degeneration of the heart. This concluded the evidence and the Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony.
