SOUTHLAND H. AND C.A. BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held at luvercargill on Thursday last. The following business of district interest was transacted :
The Executive Committee reported as follows : The committee begs to report having examined accounts and salaries, as follows: Southland Hospital £364 13s 2d, Gore Hospital £79 14s Id, Wakatipu Hospital £4U 19s lid, Arrow Hospital £79 5s lid, Fever Hospital £24 9s Id, Lome Farm £lO4- 2s 6d, Public Health £2O 6s Id, Sanatorium .€32 15s, District Nurse account £35, Charitable Aid £67 6s 9d. office and administration £SB lls 8d; total, £997 4s 2d, and recommends that they bo paid. Tho treasurer's report showed that the Board's inome for December was £1593 13s 61; expenditure £1564 19s 7d; credit balance olsfc December, 1912, £1409 9s lOd.
The committee recommends that, subject to Dr Stewart'« approval, Nurse McKerchar be sent up to Frank ton Hospital as uurse-in-charge until Juiie. Tho appointment of wardsman at Wakatipu Hospital was left in the hands of the town committee.
Reports were received and adopted in re-spect'-to the VVakatipu and Arrow hospitals. Dr Stewart (Wakatipu Hospital) reported that the total number of patients treated was 8, of whom 7 were males. The medical superintendent of the Arrow Hospital, Dr Bell Thomson, reported that 13 patients had been treated in the institution during the month and that two out-patieats had been treated.
