UNDER AGE.

New Licensing Act. In the Police Court, Dunedin, Philip Thomas Ellis was charged with obtaining liquor by.falsely representing himself to be of the age of 21 years. Defendant pleaded guilty. A constable stated that he entered the bar and found defendant with two other men all having beer in front of them. Defendant told the constable ho had paid for the liquor and in response to farther questions said he was over 21. Defendant also made a false statement to the barman, who had asked his age and pointed to the notice posted up in the bar. A fine of 20s was imposed.
