As was only to be expected, in view ot our big Special Sale next Friday, only a small entry was offered at our weekly sale at the above yards on Saturday. The entry consisted, with one exception (a bay gelding 4yrs which brought £37) of weedy hacks and harness horses and draughts of the “ done” description. Draughts, young, active, and staunch, are in great demand now, and any of the above description are eagerly competed for. Spring-vanners, suitable for either milkoart or grocer’s van, are also being enquired for. Our Special Sale next Friday will commence at 12.30 pm. sharp.'

Weekly Market Reports. Messes A. Mobitzson & Co., auctioneers, wool, stock and station, grain, produce, and commission agents, corner Bond and Jetty streets, Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for the week. All quotations subject to market fluctuations. Farmers are asked, when sending samdles, always to put a price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers.

Wheat.—Prime milling 4s 9d to 4/10, fowl wheat 4s 4d to 4s Od. Oats.—Milling 3s Id, B Grade 3s, inferior 2s 8d to 2s 9d. Barley.—Good malting inquired for, from 4s Od to os, pearling 4s 3d, feed barley 4s. P.yecorn, 3s 9dto 4s fid. Maize, 4s. 6d. Prussian blue peas.—From Gs to Gs Gd per ushel. Partridge peas, 4s Od to 5s Gd. Chaff. Prime bright heavy L 5 15s, medium £5 10s, inferior to £5, wheateu straw 455, oaten straw COs. Clover Hay.—£4 15s to £G prime. Ryegrass. —Market remains firm. Farmers’ dressed 4s Gd to 4s 9d, none offering, machine dressed 5s Cd to 6s. Cocksfoot. —Market remains strong. Farmers’ lots machined Old to 7d. Linseed.—Ll2 10s to LIS, Chewings Fescue.—There is a good demand. Farmers’ samples 3d to and machined seed Cid to 7d. Potatoes.— Prime L3to L 3 ss. Onions —Melbourne Brown Spanish, Gs. Carrots 50s.

We can offer a few tons of pure fish manure rich in amonia, valuable for root or grain crops (can he used with drill) at £7 per ton. Monday, and forward account sales every week. We have a good enquiry for all classes. Rabbitekins.—We hold our sales every Monday. The market has risen from id to Id. We quote Suckers and runners 5d {* 7d, light racks 7d to lOd, summers full grown Gd to Bd, autumns 13d to 15(1, incoming winters 14d to 19d, blacks 13d to 84d, fawns lid to l&d, winter greys bucks 17d to does 22d to 25id. We supply labels.

Sheepskins.—Prices are a farthing easier for coarse woolskins. We quote— Half bred 9d to 94d, crossbred B.Jd to 82d, merino Gid to Bd, lambs B£d to 9 Ad, pelts Gd to 7*d.

Hides.—We hold our sales every fortnight. Our last sale was on the 22nd August. We quote ox : Stout ox 7£d to 7jd, heavy do Gd to medium 5Jd to Gd, light 4£d to od, stout Gd, heavy medium 4} to s£d. light 4sd to sd, yearlings 4gd, stags B}d, calfskins 3s Gd to 5s Gd, borsehides 10s to 12s Gd. Cut and slippy hides 4d to lsd per lb less. Horsehair —There is a good demand for all classes especially clean hair which is quoted from 17d to 19d, mixed 14d to IG.^d. Rough Fat—From 17s to 20s. Tallow (in tins) IBs to 225, prime white mutton (in tins) 20s to 255, do. In casks 20s to 255, mixed tallow 16s to 20s. Storing Grain.—We are prepared to store, receive, deliver, and insure with three months’ free storage at 3d per sack. Grass-seed cleaning. We advise farmers to consign all their seedo t us, as the cleaning will be attended to with up-to-date machinery, and the cleaned seed sold or returned free of railage. We supply new and second-hand sacks, also stack, cow covers, and all other farmers’ material. Farit Pboduce and Fruit.

Pigs. Porkers up to 5Jd, first-class baconers up to 1701bs s^d; overweights, 4d to sd. Poultry for Local Consumption.—Hens 2s Gd to 33; roosters 4s to sa, ducks, 4s Gd to Ga ; turkey hens 5d eocks 7d’to per lb, live weight. For Export, free of railage, if consigned to Agricultural Department—We are now packing fowls 3s to 2s Gd (weight* 3*lb to 41b and
