ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.

Thomas Gaudin, tho Waikato farmer whose death was announced on Thursday, was trying to shoot a pheasant on property he had just purchased at Makakohe. His gun caught in wire netting and the shot entered under his chin. Death was instantaneous.

A Maori named Jorry Petia had his back broken through a log rolling over him while hauling logs at Kenana, near Mongonui. He died on Friday. At an inquest on Hogan, killed by the overturning of a dray at Napier, the jury returned a verdict of accidental death through suffocation.
