RAILWAY ACCIDENT IN FRANCE.

11 People Killed; 20 Injured. The Bordeaux-Paris express collided with a goods engine which was shunting a mile from Contrag at 11 p.m.

Three carriages were reduced to matchwood. All lamps were put out and the train was in darkness at the moment of the collision. Employees and workmen in the vicinity procured lights and extricated 150 passengers. Eleven people, including five railway employees, were killed and 20 were more or loss severely injured.

It was six o’clock before a doctor arrived on the scene and rendered first aid to the injured, who had been lying on cushions since midnight after being roughly eared for by the rescuers.
