DRAUGHT STALLION TOR WAKATIPU.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Although I was unable to be present at the annual meeting of the Agricultural Society, I have since learned that it was arranged that two members were appointed to go round the district and see what support would be given by guaranteeing a certain number of mares to a horse to be selected by a committee of the society. If lam right in this assumption, I think the Society acted wisely. This is the nest best th —to forming a company and buying a stallic -*1 feel a pang of regret that Mr Shaw and air McKibbin did not go round the district, for I am still of the opinion that the farmers would have takeu up sullieient shares to make a success of tire venture. However, the next best thing is being done, and whoever has been appointed to see what mares they can get I hope they will meet with success. If you breed good stock, you will get good prices for your stock and good work out of the horseflesh you have to work. Thanking the editor for allowing me space. I am, etc , Well Wishbi.
