A COSTLY FIRE.

Tramway Plant Destroyed. A fire at Elsternwick (Victoria) destroyed the whole stock of cars, numbering seventeen, of the St. Kilda-Wcst Brighton electric tramway. As a result business on the line has been suspended till new cars are built. The cause of the fire is a mystery. The electric current was cut off at the time of the outbreak, the fire starting in tho manager's office. The damage is roughly estimated at £15,000.
