WAKATIPU LICENSING BENCH.

The quarterly meeting was held at the Courthouse, Queenstown, on Tuesday. Present—Messrs P. J. Burgess (chairman) Dr Douglas, P. de la Perrelle, and J. L. Scott. Permanent transfers were granted as follows: T. J. Callaghan to P. Ford, jun., Empire Hotel, Waikaia; J. McLean to W. Cruickshanks, for Crown Hotel, Waikaia. / G. Seatter, Bannockburn, applied for leave of absence for four weeks on account of ill-health. —Granted, Mrs Seatter to have charge of hotel temporarily. W. Monteith applied for a conditional license for the race-meeting at Pembroke. The police objected to the application. The Committee decided to grant the application as it was a registered race* meeting. W. Monteith, applied foe three months' leave of absence from the Wanaka Hotel, and asked permission for P. McDougall to take charge during his absence.—Both applications were granted.
