• Work has already been started m raisin-,' the Tuohy’s Greek dredge, Cardrona. is not yet known if the dredge has been damaged by the sinking. We hear that Messrs M Gregor and party purpose starting immediately in bringing in a race to work ground at Branch Creek, Cardrona, by hydrauhcmg.
Messrs Hayes and Fleming are engaged in prospecting some ground m Cardrona known to be auriferous. Another 121 ounce nugget has been found at Poisedon rush. The latest hnds indicate the discovery of a new lead. The world’s output of gold in 1900 will exceed eighty ’ million pounds Stirling. This is double the production for 1890, and four times the output of 1886. It is calculated that in 1910 the gold production of the world will exceed one hundred millions of pounds.
