(lake county press correspondent.)

The concert in aid of the organ fund took place in th school room on Friday night, and was a great .success. All the talent vvns local and the performers acquitted themselves admirably. It was the lirst appearance of some of them in public and they excelled themselves. The chairman, Mr Leslie, thanked the performers and the audience for the attendance, and said the organ fund amounted to £l7 10s. Supper was provided after the concert, most of the good things being supplied by the ladies, Dancing was kept up till the wee sma' hours. Seed-sowing and potato-planting • are well advanced. Owing to the dry weather and frosty nights things are not looking so well as they might. Gibbston, Bth October, 1906.
