gibrston. The above named schoo was examined by the teacher on Thursday 12th inst., and by Inspector Hendry on Saturday 14th, all the children passing on both occasions. The following are the remarks on the varioussubjects : Reading and explanation, satisfactory composition, satisfactory; writing, careful and uniform; spelling, good; recitations* satisfactory; arithmetic, fair; drawing, on the whole good ; singing, very good ; physical instruction, good; geography, very fair; history, satisfactory ; moral instruction health, satisfactory ; brushwork (IY and VII), satisfactory ; plasticene modelling (PI to St ITT) satisfactory ; needlework, good ; instruction to class P, satisfactory; Order, Discipline and Tone of the school, very good; efficiency of the school, from the above notes it may be inferred that satisfactory work has been done, in this school during the year. JAiIBS HENDBXi CROWN TERRACE. This school was examined on the 16th, instant by Mr Inspector Braik, and, considering the disadvantages consequent on no fewer than three teachers during the year, passed a fairly good examination. UPPER SHOTOVER. The above school was examined ou Thursday last by Inspector Hendry, and the examination was highly satisfactory in all subjects.
