LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

An ordinary meeting was h«ld yesterday, the whole of the members being present. The committee appointed at last meeting to look through the accounts in connection with the licensing election brought up a report, and it was decided th it the printing accounts be sent to Mr Gcisow (returning officer) to hive a reduction made. The notice of motion, proposed by Or W. Rsid, seconded by Or P. .RaidThat by-law No. 10 referring to licensed vehicles be amended—was carried unanimously. Tenders for the following contracts were dealt with : Contract No. 217. R P. Anderson, £54 153 (accepted); W. Downey, £57 16s; H. M'Mullen, £49 6s; James Chalmers, £55 5-i. Contract No. 218—H M'Mullen and party, £23 in (accepted) ;J. Ohalni' rs, £26 ; T. F. Richards, £26 ; VV. Downey, £24. Contract 219 (20 chains).— H. M'Mullen and party, £29 ; R. P. Anderson, £35 ; W. Downey sent in a tender for 10 chains at £1 10s per chain, and it was decided to accept his tender providing he did the 20 chains for £3O. Contract No. 220.-H. M'Mullen, £24 ; W. Downey, £lB (accepted)The Low-.-r Shot-over residents having subscribed the necessary guarantee for a telephone, it was decided to request the Department to proofed with the construction of the line at once.
