An Examination of Candidates for Certificates as Dredgemastors, under " The fining Act Amendment Act, 1901," will bs held at* Alexandra, Otago, on Wednesday, the 3rd June, and at Greymouth on Thursday/the 4th of June, 1903. All applications, with necessary rertifioatee, and fee of £l, ehould bo addressed to the Secretary, and must be received befDre the 23.d May. Form? of application may be obtained from Inspector of Mines, Westport and Dunedin. The attention of candidates is called to the following regulation?, Nos. 20 and 21 : 20. Every candidate for examination shall be not less than twenty-four years of age, and shall forward, together with his application, satisfactory evidence of sobriety and good character, and of at least three years'employment on a dredge or dredge.*, two years of which must have been served on a dredge or dredges working iu deep or Bwift-flowing streams. 21.
