The weather of late has been very unsettled. At present there are indications of heavy rain. The Spinsters’ Ball duly came off on Wednesday last, and was such a success as was anticipated. The concert in aid of the Brunner disaster fund the same evening was also a success financially and otherwise. The return match, Cardrona v. Wanaka, was played on the latter’s ground on Wednesday last, and resulted in a win for Cardrona. The ladies kindly provided refreshments. Appended are the scores : Wanaka—first in ings. T.
