lately, ao that now all the river from above Cromwell to the Kawarau Gorge is taken up. Roy’s party at the Lowburn are making good progress with their work and hope to bo ready to start in about two months. There is also talk of one or more parties putting a dredge on the Nevis river. I notice in the Cromwell Argus that the inhabitants of the Lowburn are stiring themselves, and intend to erect a public hall. In the past the schoolhouse served the purpose, for most entertainments, but it is evident that the boom in dredging over their way is putting new life into the residents. Good -luck to both their dredges and new hall which is to come.
