INQUEST,

An inquest was held at Queenstown on Tuesday afternoon last before the Coroner (Mr L. Hotop) and a jury of six, of whom Mr A. Jos» was elected foreman, touching the death of Alexander Murray, who died rather suddenly at Moke Creek Fiat on Sunday evening last. Catherine Murray, wife of the deceased, gave evidence that deceased was her husband, and they lived at Moke Creek Flat. Deceased was bad about nine days. Ho complained about weakness in his legs. At first he did not appear to be very iL, and she did not think his condition was serious. On Friday last he was worse, but did not take to his bed until Saturday. Even then she did not think him very bad. On Sunday morning he complained of being worse. She then sent for the doctor, and everything was done for him that could be done. Deceased was a native of Perthshire, Scotland, and was 69 years of age. They had a family of five, three of whom were alive. Alexander Patterson’s evidence was that he saw deceased about 10.30 p.ra, on Sunday last,, when deceased was delirious. He thought he had inflammation of the bowels.. Deceased was in bed, and everything was done that could be. Dr Douglas* in his evidence, stated that the- deceased had been suffering for the last eight days, with a. severe feverish attack, which ended in. slight delirium and diarrhoea, which caused bis death. The verdict was that deceased came by his death by natural causes,.
