Jenkins, alteration of head and extension of race, Boundary Creek ; Beresford Ritchie and W. J. Farrell, protection for each of their licensed holdings at Macetown, his Worship fixing the protection at four months, having no power to grant longer ; Charles Martin, protection, Macetown ; W. Garrick, extended claim, German Gully, Arrow River ; J. M atk'ns, similar application, same locality; J. Wilson, tunnel, 8-Mile, subject to existing rights; G. Hallighan, water race, Butler’s Gully, Cardrona, conditionally that it did not interfere with M'Dougall and Sou’s privileges. W. Jenkins’s application fora water race from the Wye Creek was adjourned to next Court day

G- Pearce and Others to amalgamate claims was refused, his Worship remarking 1 that, as the separate claims had not been fully worked in terms of the requirements of the Act, he could not grant it, without going against the distinct wording of the Act, and contrary to its spirit. “ I hat, he said, “ is a try-on I can’t stand ” A. Preston’s application for extended claim was adjourned to next Court. Jopp, Henderson, and Brown withdrew their application for a claim on Cardrona Saddle, the ground being too heavy to work without timber, which would be too expensive landed there.

John Watkins’s application for residence area, Eight-Mile. Arrow River, was objected to by G. aHon, and refused by his Worship unless Walton agreed to come to an arrangement with applicant. The Court then adjourned.
