VOLUNTEERS.
The competition between the Cromwell, Queenstown, and Arrow Companies for Capt. S. N. Brown's £5 5s medal has been definitely fixed for Saturday next (May Bth), at the Arrow butts, commencing at ten o'clock sharp. The teams will consist of five picked men from each Company, and will be essentially representative. The firing will be conducted under the District Prize-firing rules, and the conditions seven shots each at 200, 400, and 500 yards. Great interest is taken by the Volunteers of the district in the forthcoming match, as it will be the first time that teams from the three Companies have been brought together at the same butts for district competition. We hear that the Arrow team will entertain their visitors at a lunch at Mr Seoles' New Orleans Hotel after the match. The members of the respective teams are:—Cromwell—Lieut. Jolly, Sub.-Lieut. Oolclough, Sergts Storey and Graham, Vol. Aitken; Queenstown Col.-Sergt. Boyne| Sergts. Bodkin, Aldred, Wilmott, and Waldemann; Arrow Capt. Jenkins, Lieut. Healey, Col.-Sergt. Brown, Sergt. Perrelle, and Corpl. Gibson.
