Lord Clyde obtained the following prizes in Scotland when one year old:—First prizes at Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch," East Kih bride, Johnstone, and first prize for the best yearling colt of the Clydesdale breed. In 1877, at Stawell Grand National Show, received the Board’s prize of 10 sovs., also Champion prize of 10 sovs. for best female in the yard, first prize at Ballarat for brood mare, first at National Agricultural Society’s Spring Show, at Melbourne, and Champion Cup for best mare or filly in the yard (imported or colonial) ; first prize at Kyneton for best brood mare—her half-sister Maggie Clyde gaining second—in a class of 15; also Champion Cup, in conjunction with her half-sisters Maggie Clyde and Blossom, for the three best draught mares.
