ARROW DISTRICT RACES.
A meeting of the Arrow District Paces Committee was held on Monday evening last. Present:—Messrs GrUber (in the chair) Colville, Farquhar, Pritchard, C. Johnson, Baker, A. M. Mackay, Graham, and G. B. Douglas The following gentlemen were appointed to canvass lor subscriptions : Arrowtown—Missis Graham and Colclough ; Queenstown—Messrs Daniels and Colville; Macetown— Messrs G. B. Douglas and Cash; Arrow Flat and Hayes Lake—Messrs Jenkins and Perrelle; Millers Fiat and Speargrass Flat—Messrs Scole3 and Johnson; Gibbston—Messrs Leslie and P. Henderson ; Kawarau and Whitechapel Flat—Messrs J. Williams and E. Roberts; Cardrona—Messrs Tuohy and Welsh ; Shotover—Messrs E. Duncan and Monk. It was resolved that all subscriptionlists, with the amounts collected, should be returned on or before the 12th inst. Mr J. A. Miller was appointed Ser> retary for the meeting at a salary of £5: Mr Farquhar was appointed hon. Treasurer. Messrs Colville, Baker, and Graham were appointed a sub-committee to select and secure a course. It was resolved to hold the next meeting of Committee on thelOth ins'., for the purpose of receiving reports and arranging programme. The names of Messrs G. B. Douglas and R. M'Morran were added to the Committee.
