Duties of Crown Ranger.
Sin, —(Jan you or any of your readers inform me, and the public, how it is that the Arrow Hunger looks so particularly after Quarry Reserves and sees that no soil or stone is interfered with without a license, while at the same time a man is permitted to take soil from a public street, and other parties are a lowed to sluice away part of a public right of way. I allude to the right of way in rear of block 9, which is a width of 18 feet ; and the Quid Fields Regulations provides that no mining &o , is permitted within a distance cf five feet of such right of way. Another matter that I think should come under the cognizance of the Ranger is whether the stream of water running along the public road should bo permitted to run so. It is a matter of wonder ‘that some horse has not bolted, and killed some p-rson or persons. - • I trust if the Crown Ranger will not see it his duty to look after these things, some other person will be appointed to do so.—l am, &c. . Improvement. iVxrowtowD,.Septt 26.
