Dunedin, 21st insl. At the Cavershatn nomination, Messrs James, Crowe, Richmond, Tolmie, and Cutten were proposed.. Telegrams from Wellington say that the Government have a majority for Stafford s motion of want of confidence. The Alhumhra has arrived. The Victorian Parliament, by a majority of 30 to 15, refused to ratify the Californian contract. Small pox has entirely disappeared. The overland cable is still unworkable. The Sydney Parliament has called tenders,for the California service via Fiji. The Honolulu boats are to be 1500 tons, and the passage not to exceed thirty days. ,The premium, if over pr; wader eoatraet time la to be 60 1 a day.
