ARROW MINERS' ASSOCIATION.

We have been requested to publish, for the information of members, the following Standing Orders, as passed by the Committee of the Association at their last meeting:— I. Every member, on first taking his seat on the Committee of the Association, shall enter his name and address in a book kept for that purpose, and such signature shall be held as a guarantee that he agrees to conform to all statutory enactments of the Association.

11. All meetings shall proceed with business at 7 o'clock during the winter, and., at 8 o'clock during the summer months.

111. The Committee having met, the minutes of the previous meeting shall be read by the hon. Secretary, No dis oussion shall be allowed on such minutes except as to their accuracy us a correct record of the proceedings of the last meeting.

IV. The reading of the correspondence shall then be taken as the next order of the day. V. All motions and notices of motion and all amendments on motions shall be given in writing to the President, and shall be read, signed, and dated by the mover.

VII. Any motion or amendment not Seconded shall not be debated, but shall lapse ; and no discussion shall be allowed on a motion for adjournment. VII. Any member having proposed a motion or amendment may withdraw the same, but should it be seconded it «an only be withdrawn by consent of the meeting. VIII. Any motion or amendment duly carried can only be rescinded at a public meeting of the Association. IX. One amendment only shall be discussed at one time ; but if lost, one other can be moved before the original motion is put to the vote. In the event, however, of an amendment being carried, the original motion shall be deemed rejected, and the amendment so carried •bail take the place of each original

motion, and on it one amendment mat be moved, but no more. ■•' • |

X. No member shall speak twice to any question: before the meeting except with the sanction of the President or in explanation.; but a member maleing a substantive motion shall nave a right to reply. Any member merely seconding a motion shall not be held to. have spoken to it.

XI. All questions before the meeting shall be determined by a show of hands. XIL All office-bearers and members of Committee shall be elected .by ballot,' the President to have an individual as well as a casting vote in the election of members.

XIII. In every division the votes; both ayes and noes, shall be recorded; and every member present shall be re. quired to vote, but no proxy votes shall be recognised.

XIV. Any member may require tbe Secretary to take down any particular words used by another member immediately upon their being spoken.

XV. Any or each of the following acts, words or omissions shall constitute a breach of order :

Interrupting another member while addiessing the meeting, except upon a point of order. Refusing to cease speaking when interrupted by a call to order. Disorderly conduct in the meetingroom, using offensive language, imputing improper motives, or making personal reflections on. a, member. Any member, after taking his seat! who shall wilfully absent himself without permission of the meeting. Disobeying the lawful" orders of the President.
