RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, Arrowtown Monday, April 15.

(Before R. Beetham, Esq., R.M). Two men, named Jackson and Proctor, were each fined 20s. This being the second offence in both cases, the delinquents were warned that on a third appearance they would have no option but go to prison. Police v. Feebly— Complaint that the defendant had allowed music and dancing in his licensed public-house, the Royal Oak Hotel, on the night of Monday, Ist April, without permission from the authorities.—Fined Is. Same v. Same Defendant was charged by constable Hunt with selling spirituous and fermented liquors after lawful hours. The charge broke down, the constable not proving that liqor had been sold or supplied. Civil Cases. Jenkins v. Callaghan Action to recover £2 9s, value of goods supplied. Judgment by default, with costs, 325. WARDEN’S COURT CBefore R. Beetham, Esq , Warden ; and Messrs L. Harris. IF. Eaton , IF. Fletcher and 6'. Symonds — Assessors). Bradfield and Party v. Ah Mon and Party 1 his was an action to recover a sum of £ll7 1 Os, for damage done to the plaintiffs’ claim, and loss of time in consequence thereof. Mr Turton appeared for plaintiffs ; Mr Barton conducted the defence for the Chinese. Befoie entering into evidence, Mr Barton, on behalf of bis clients, desired that the Warden and Assessors inspect the claims of the parlies to the suit. Ihe Court then adjourned till 4 p.m., to allow of a personal inspection, the defendants paying £3 travellingexpenses to the 8-Mile, where the claims are situated. On the Court resuming, the evidence for plaintiffs’ was gone into. It is unnecessary here to go into the details of the case, as the most important features in it have appeared in reports of former litigation between the parties.—A verdict was given for plaintiffs, £SO, with costs, £ll 6s. S. Goldston applied that the decision of arbitrators in the case “ Houlaghan and Party v. Goldston and Burrell” be made an order of the Court.—Held over till next Court-day.
