QUEENSTOWN ROTARY CLUB

At the weekly meeting of th* Queenstown Eotary Club, Dr Anderson was congratulated on his re-election to the Mayoralty and President Robins on being elected a member of the Queenstown Borough Council. A very interesting and informative address entitled “ Foreign Currency ” was given by Dr W. A. Anderson, his remarks covered the financial crisis and austerity which overtook Great Britain and the causes which lead to it. He touched on the great difficulties which attached to hard and soft currencies. A vote of thanks was accorded the speaker. Mr W. H. Hayward, a member of the Magazine Committee, drew the attention of rotarians to the message from S. Kendrick Guernsey, president of R. 1., “ Can we keep Eotary Simple,” which appeared in the October number of the Rotary magazine. He made some interesting deductions from the message. Mr R. J. Fuller gave the toast of the Newport News Club, Virginia. Visitors present were rotarians Wilson Elliot, Balclutha; N. Armour and T. C. Marshall, Invercargill.
