BOROUGH COUNCIL ELECTIONS

Nominations Exceed Requirements by Four

Dr W. A. Anderson Re-elected Mayor Unopposed

Last minute enthusiasm resulted in ten nominations being received for the Queenstown Borough Council. As there are only six vacancies to be filled an election will be held on November 19. Seven of the ten nominations are new aspirants for civic honours and it is pleasing to see younger men prepared to accept nomination for service on the council.

The only alteration in the composition of the Lake County Council is the substitution of Mr C. J. Soper for Mr A. E. Buston representing the Kingston riding. An election for the county council will not be necessary as the nominations did not exceed the required number. Dr W. A. Anderson again assumes the duties of Mayor for the fourth term, his being the only nomination for this office. Of the ten nominations received for the borough council, three members, Messrs J. L. Lindsay, H. W. Sow Hoy and D. W. Thompson, are the only members of the previous council seeking re-election.
