FANCY DRESS BALL
Social and Sports Club’s Successful Function Greenery, streamers, balloons and paper balls created a festive atmosphere at the Social and Sports Club’s fancy dress ball, which was held recently. Mr and Mrs Pat Scott led the Grand March and they were followed by many local and lakeside folk. The judging of the fancy dress costumes was carried nut by Mr and Mrs Lampard, of Dunedin, who awarded the prizes to the following: — Mrs J. Wylie, an Elizabethan Lady, and Mr Graham Scott, as Chin Fooi, the Chinaman. The following were the winners of the novelty dances and competitions: — Lucky Spot, Mr N. and Miss J. Groves; Monte Carlo, Mrs T. Thompson and Mr N. Groves; Cinderella Dance, Miss E. Shaw and Mr Keith Sutherland; Statue Highland Schottische, Miss E. Shaw and Mr Keith Sutherland; Mystery parcel, Mr J. Hume. Mrs Scott (piai «, Mr Hefferman (electric guitar) and Mr Eobinson (drums) very capably supplied the music and during the evening Miss E. Scott played the extras. Messrs J. Cornish and J. Wylie were very efficient Masters of Ceremonies.
