Queenstown Hotel Bar Combines Comfort And Hygiene
Hygiene, comfort and convenience are combined in the modern bar recently opened at the White Star Hotel, Queenstown. To increase the bar accommodation the whole of the Ballarat street side of the hotel has been transformed into one room measuring 34ft x }4ft. The semi-island bar counter within this space has a three-section stepped front in flush-panelled figured red pine. The bottle.rack is suspended above the counter. The interior fittings of the bar comprise stainless steel sinks connected with hot and cold water sprays and plastic tubes, in full public view, through which fermented liquor is drawn by means of a pressure plant. .Neon lights encircling the bar counter give an attractive appearance. The bar is air-conditioned by a suction fan and a fireplace adds to its comfort. The walls of the room are papered in a soft pastel shade, and the ceiling is finished in a similar shade to match the walls. A lounge which is connected with the main bar by a slide is elegantly equipped with modern furnishings and a fireplace finished in tapestry and red brick. The bar and lounge windows display the White Star emblem,, and the bar floor is cork-lined with White Star insets at intervals.
