Queenstown Wins Badminton Shield From Cromwell
Queenstown won the Inglis Badminton Shield for the 1947-48 season when, they defeated the visiting Cromwell team by eight sets to four in a match played on Monday night of last week. Results (Queenstown names first) are: — Women’s Doubles, —L. Mcßride and R. Muir defeated Miss Kerr and Mrs Rankin 21 —4; M. Coulson and M. McDowall lost to Mrs Walker and Miss Heeney 12—21; C. Dagg and M, Curtis defeated Miss McNamara and Mrs Soden 21—9. Men’s Doubles. —G. Nelson and T. Luckie doifcafced Wj Munro and L. Gorinski 21 —19; R. Anderson and O. Wheatley defeated R. Currie and Cowio 21—12; J. Muir and W. Davioa defeated B. Munro anad Hayes 21 —16. Mixed Doubles. —G. Nelson and L. Mcßride defeated W. .Munro and‘Miss Kerr 2d —21; T. Luckie and R. Muir defeated L. Gorinski and Mrs Rankin 21 —12; R. Anderson and M, McDowall defeated R. Currie and Mrs Walker 21—18; 0. Wheatley and M. Coulson lost to Cowio and Miss Heeney 13— 21; J. Muir and C. Dagg lost to B.
