Mr R. C. Robins returned to Timaru early in the week to resume his holiday. * * * Mr and Mrs J. Miss Elizabeth Barnett, Christchurch, has been appointed assistant town clerk from four applications. * * * Mr R. J. Fuller, manager of the Queenstown branch of the Bank of New Zealand, is on annual leave. Mr J. J. E. Downey is relieving manager. # # Regret at the recent death of Mr Robert McDowall was recorded at the annual meeting of the Wakatipu Bowling Club on Thursday last week. * * * Mr B. Vercoe, head of the Queenstown branch of the Internal -Affairs Department, went to Christchurch during the week to attend the Acclimatisation conference. * * * The Conservator of Fish and Game, Queenstown, advises that . Fishing Licences for the Southern Lakes District will be on sale at the same agents as last year. Licence fees are the same as usual, except that the weekly licence is now 7s 6d and provision is made for a monthly licence for 15s.
