Queenstown House Auctioned In Three Minutes

Keen competition was created on Friday by the sale by public auction of a four-roomed residence, situated in Lake street, Queenstown, The sale took three minutes. Inquiries had been received from people living near and far away from Queenstown regarding particulars of the house, and when’the limit price of £BSO was reached 10 parties handed in their names for ballot. Mr E. A. Scheib, of Queenstown, was the successful purchaser, and Mr J. Keen was the second name to be drawn out of the ballot. Although £BSO was considered by many a very fair price, competition was so keen that the price limit was reached and the ballot taken in the short space of three minutes. From the sale of household furniture, etc., some satisfactory prices were obtained by the auctioneer, also some snips were going to those purchasing.
