Orr, of Invercargill, visited Queenstown during the week on Government Departmental business. * * * Mr and Mrs H. Tomkies returned during the week from a holiday spent on the West Coast and Hamner Springs. * * Mr and Mrs Dwyer, of Invercargill, were the guests of Mr and Mrs Geo. Miles over the week-end. * « e Mrs J. E. Heme has returned to Queenstown after a holiday spent in Wellington and Auckland. # * * Mr H. Broadhead, architect, who paid a business trip to Queenstown during the week, returned to Timaru on Monday. * * * Miss Iris Luckie, who is on the staff of the Post and Telegraph Department stationed at Timaru is home on annual leave. * * * Mr and Mrs G. Knowles and Miss Bedford, who were the guests of Mr E. Macleod, have returned to Pleasant Point. * * * Mr F. N. Aldridge, who has been senior clerk in the Government Railway Office for a number of years, left on Tuesday together with his wife and family to take up his new appointment at Invercargill. * The Queenstown Rehabilitation Committee held a meeting at the office of the Postmaster on Wednesday, the 2nd inst. In the absence of Mr D. H. Crickburn, Mr J. McDonald presided. Several important matters relating to returned servicemen’s requirements were dealt with. The opportunity was also taken to, suitably bid farewell to Mr Allan Pauli, of Alexandra, and to welcome his successor, Mr J. Hynes. Mr Pauli, who has been in charge of the Rehabilitation and Social Security Departments at Alexandra for many years, is being transferred on promotion to Dunedin.
