WAITEMATA CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY GO.

FACTORY AT WAIMAUKU.

The annual report and balance sheet of the Waitemata Co-operative Dairy Company, which was presented to the annual meeting, disclosed a highly satisfactory position on the year's working- to April 30, 1921. This company, which operates over a considerable portion of the Waitemata County between the city and Waimauku, is doing good work through its system of carting which enables both small and large suppliers to send their cream to the factory, and thus get the full benefit of the true co-operative system. During the year the number of suppliers increased from 151 to 182, and the output of butter from 89 tons 4cwt to 152 tons 9cwt, an increase of 63 tons scwt. The amount available for payment to suppliers per lb of butterfat was 2/8 y 2 (including cartage l%d), of which 2/6 per lb had actually been paid by July 20, leaving- a further amount of I^4d to be paid upon receipt of the balance of moneys due from the equalisation fund. Present appearances point to considerable development in the district over which the company operates, and there is every probability of a further increase in the output for the coming season.
