Mrs Meinhold entered the private hospital a few days ago owing to illness. Mrs J. Carter, wife of our local bank manager, has now taken up her residence in Helensville. Mr C. Ansell, postmaster, is now on annual leave, and is being releived by Mr G. R. Dausey, who was the first post-master in charge of the present. Helensville office when it was opened. Mr and Mrs H. Thompson have been recently enjoying a holiday trip to Auckland and Rotorua. At the last Parakai social, Miss I. McDonald, secretary for the Euchre Club, received a handsome little presentation in appreciation of her secretarial work during the season. Area Sergt-Major Collier, who is retiring from active military service on his own initiative, left Helensville for Whangarei last Friday. Sergt-Major Crighton has filled the position of area officer thus made vacant.
