The Sabbath Question.

" NOT UNDER THE LAW."

TO THE EDITOR. L Fir, —Allow me to remind your readers, that the reason why Christians are divided into so many different companies, is, t] when reading some parts 'of the g Bible, they have arrived at t] different conclusions as to their <* meaning. A For the encouragement of a Christians, the Apostle Paul says b yin Rom 6.14, " Sin shall not have d dominion over you ; for ye are o not under the law, but under a grace." Some Christians, who have read such Scriptures as Gal 3.10, where it says ', For as many t' as are of the works of the law are I under the curse " have concluded, q that to keep the Law, is to be t under the curse, so when reading t Rom 6.14, they think that Paul is g reminding them, that, " Sin shall c not have dominion over them for a they are not keepers. It is as great pity that such Scriptures have been misunderstood, and ] that such wrong interpretations should have been received by a people who are so good in t other respects. Nearly all other £ denominations believe that from r Genesis to Revelation, the keeping of the law of God is set forth -^ as the way 6f eternal life. r Among thousands of like Scriptures, please note the following : i —Gen 2.17, Eec 12.13, Ps 1.1.—3, f Gal 3.10, Rev 22.14, x What a dreadful thing it is that Christians should hold such opposite views, concerning so important a question, as to whether it be right or wrong, to keep , the law of God. What would be t the result if there were many in this country, who taught that the j law of the land should not be r, kept ? Because of these misunderstandings, andmmisinterpr- t tations, the Church has split into hundreds of fragments, each company teaching differently con- * cerning Bible truth. It has j brought the Word of God into 1 bad repute, and to the satisfaction ( of its enemies, Christianity is covered with shame. It causes } stumbling to those seeking" the ; way of life. It grieves the Holy j Spirit, who is willing, and able to *" lead us into all truth." It calls , down.most solemn warnings from the Almighty." He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shaH.suddenly be destroyed, ;and that without remedy. Prov 29.1. The apostle Paul beseeches Christians, to be of one mind, to { speak the same thing, that there be no divisions among them, 1 C0r.1.10. The Saviour prayed that His followers might all be one, that the world might believe. John 17.20—23. God has but one mind, all Scripture comes from Him. No Scripture contradicts another Scripture. There can be but one true interpretation of God's Word. Obedience is the proof of loyalty John 14.15, 21.23. If all are obedient to God's Word, there can be but one body of beleivers. Every true Christian will earnestly endeavour to remove .those differences of opinion which cause division. God in His last message of warning and mercy, is now calling us back to the unchangeable Gospel, and to the keeping of His holy Commandments Rev 14.6, 12. With your leave Sir, I will send you another letter in reference to the meaning of Paul's words in Romans 6.14. which will leave no room for differences of opinion as to whether Christians should keep .the law of God or not. JVIr Editor, I thank you for r \ G 2x ing out that part of my letter ' prior to mv correspondence with Mr Kirgan, which under existing circumstances you thought it. foest tovexclude. lam glad to receive the -.benefit of your larger experience in these matters. I acm 'et°' G. JOHNSON, Parkhurst.
