In the House of Assembly last night a lengthy debate took place on Mattinson's motion reflecting upon the action of the Minister of Public Works in distnismissing Thow, the locomotive superintendent. A division, however, was avoided by the House adopting unanimously an amendment by a motion moved by a Government supporter. Melbourne, October 21. Sailed, this afternoon, the Union steamship Tarawera, for the Bluff.
