Miss N. Haw is spending a holiday in Auckland.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Pollock will be week-end visitors to Auckland.

Mrs. H. R. White and Mr. N. White have returned after spending a few days in Auckland.

Miss Pat Houghton, of Wairere, is visiting Waipukurau, where she is the guest of Mrs. Todd.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Robertson are staying- a few days as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. B Jordan. Mr. Robertson was formerly UnderSecretary for Lands.

Mr. C. R. N. Tabrum, of the Railway Department, has received notice of transfer on promotion to the position of guard at Wairoa.

On Saturday last, at the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Hamilton, the wedding was solemnised between Mary, second daughter of Mr. and Mi's. G. A. Dew, Te Kanawa Street, Otorohanga, and Patrick Russell, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Lafferty, Frankton.

The friends of Mrs. R. Tebbutt, Te Mapara, will be pleased to learn that she is making- a good recovery from her recent illness and hopes to be leaving Hamilton Hospital within the next few days.

At Tuesday's Waikato Presbytery meeting, the Rev. S. W. Webber reported that he had met the congregation at Te Kuiti and it was unanimous in the desire for an extension of the term of Mr. W. T. Brabyn. Presbytery decided to forward the request to the missions committee, with its endorsement.

Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Lusk left yesterday to spend a holiday with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F. Aickin, of Whangamata.

Mrs. A. Jorgenson and family, of Otangiwai, are at present visiting Te Kuiti.

The New Zealand Minister of Finance, Mr. Walter Nash, on Wednesday left Victoria station to join the liner Queen Mary for New York. He will join the Mariposa on August 5, which is due at Auckland on September 1. Pio Pio Personals. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Johnstone were recent visitors to New Plymouth. Mrs. Johnstone, Senr., who has been spending an extended holiday with Mrs, J. H. Johnstone, has returned to Christchurch. Miss Roberta Nilson, Auckland, was the guest of her parents last weekend. Mr. C. H. Paine spent last week-end at the Chateau Tongariro. Mrs. E. Griffin, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. T. Mullins, in Wanganui, has returned home. Miss Pat Winthrop, of Auckland, is at present visiting Pio Pio. Mrs. S. C. Tait and family have returned to Pio Pio. Miss M. Jones, Papakura, was a visitor to Pio Pio for the Golf Club Ball. Mrs. Smeaton has returned to Auckland after spending three weeks relieving at the District High School.
